The CoderDojo movement believes that an understanding of programming languages is increasingly important in the modern world.  CoderDojo have  built a global network of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people. Anyone aged seven to seventeen can visit a Dojo where they can learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment.

Capita Customer Solutions is delighted to support this superb initiative by sponsoring the local CoderDojo group, in Clonakilty Ireland, with their annual Expo at which over 45 projects were demonstrated by the Dojo members on Friday night, May 05th at the Quality Hotel in Clonakilty.  Not only does this inspire kids to engage with programming as a hobby it is nurturing the #STEM students of the present and future.

Many congratulations and much admiration for the Dojo kids, their families and in particular the volunteers who give of their time and expertise to run the classes.

Presenting awards to the Dojo students were Denis Croombs of Capita Customer Solutions, Anthony McDermott, Mayor of Clonakilty, Bill Liao, co-founder of CoderDojo and Margaret Kennedy, CoderDojo Clonakilty
