The Irish agriculture industry is going through a period of substantial change. Local and European traceability and sustainability directives and legislation are placing increasing pressure on the agri-sector to keep pace with its obligations and ensure farmers can meet their targets in areas such as carbon emission reduction.

At Capita Customer Solutions we are at the forefront of helping farmers understand and meet their requirements. We are the foremost provider of outsourced services to Irish agriculture. No other supplier can match our breadth of services and engagement with farmers and farming organisations. Having started out in the cattle breeding industry in 1957, we diversified in 1996 when chosen to provide the Animal Registration and Traceability service on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine. Subsequent partnerships were forged with Bord Bia to deliver the BLQAS and SDQAS Quality Assurance schemes and finally with the Irish Cattle Breeders Federation (ICBF) for the provision of data capture, fulfilment and contact centre services, including the Beef Data Genomics Programme (BDGP).

Today, we physically inspect in excess of 23,000 farms annually, register 2.5 million calves, handle 100,000 contacts from farmers and throughput €1.1 million in cheque payments. We are extremely proud that all our agriculture partnerships remain in force - their longevity is testament to the quality of our delivery and our standing within the farming community.
