Capita Customer Solutions is a market leader in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector with origins in the agriculture industry dating back to the 1950s. Originally known as the SWS Group, we won our first outsourcing contract with the Department of Agriculture in 1996 to deliver a new calf registration service serviced by a team of 35 people in Bandon, Co. Cork. That contract remains in place to this day but the company itself has expanded exponentially in the years since. Re-branded as SouthWestern, we grew an extensive portfolio of front and back office services and a client base of blue chip public and private sector organisations. Today, we have a workforce in excess of 700 people working in multiple sites in Clonakilty, Bandon and Little Island in Cork, the UK & Poland.
Recognition of our past successes and future market potential came in August 2014 when we were acquired by Capita UK plc, the UK’s largest business process outsourcer. Andy Parker, CEO, Capita said of the acquisition at the time, "SouthWestern is a highly respected outsourcing company with an excellent private and public sector client base. The acquisition will provide Capita the opportunity to provide new services to SouthWestern's existing clients and to continue to grow both its customer base and job opportunities."
